I don't know how to live anyone's life but my own.

Consequently, I don't know what it's like to live anyone's life but my own.

Saw this ad on craigs list this morning, and thought it was hilarious because of the way it started--

"Lifetime Accumulation-Extreme Downsizing Estate Sale: Two lifetimes long overdue for re-prioritizing, have come to their senses. "

Can anyone cut me a reality check?

I think I might need one.

I saw a mercedes this morning with a roof rack for bikes on the top of it.

It seems a little amusing to me.

I spend much of yesterday trying to sleep off a cold, but it's still hanging on as for this morning. Strangely enough, I'm feeling pretty good and up-beat, considering my cold-like symptoms, and am even reminising my shiatsu school days where we looked at illness as a part of the wellness cycle.

I am still thinking of going home a little early today, even though, hitting the additional traffic would probably make it a mute point.

On Tuesday, a ran a little while at the gym for the first time in a while, since I've been getting used to my inserts still, and it felt great . . . at the time. Two days later, my shins still hurt.

I am very bummed about this. I didn't think it would be that ambitious to try to run a 5k this summer, but now I'm thinking it will take a lot of training to build up strength and flexibility and endurance in my calves to be able to do that.

I'm leaving on the retreat shortly, so this is the last internet I'll have for a few days.

1) I'm bringing Y's candles as my white elephant gift.

2) I"m hoping that it will not rain, even if it's kindof cold.

3) Last night, Y was sewing new buttons on his ren fest shirt, and he was using the scissors on his leatherman. I thought it was rather amusing.

4) I should be getting my car Monday or Tuesday *crosses fingers*

What's something you would splurge on this year to improve your future?

A bigger savings account!

This car research can be rather entertaining. I just read that Honda might come out w/ a hybrid version of the Honda Fit in the next couple years, but that this information was initially gathered by--

"an exclusive interview with an unidentified source"

lol . . .

I test drove a Toyota Yaris this weekend. It was a complete disappointment.

I test drove a Honda Fit last night, and kindof liked it. I tried both the automatic and manual, and definitely like the manual better. And it's pretty roomy for being a small car.

This weekend: the certified pre-owned world.

This weekend, we got a fair about done around the home and yard. I bought a new rug and a new piece of furniture to help de-clutter the house. I told Y that since I was the one who paid for it, it was his job 'as the man' to put it together. An enterprise which took about three and a half hours while I vegged out on the couch and watched tv. I think I got the better end of the stick on that one :)

The yard looks pretty nice, with all the potted plans and stuff that we have out. (This is more because of Y than me, even though I 'helped'. I've never been very good with plants.) And the lawn got mowed! which makes our place almost fit in w/ the other homes around us.

I even found a nail place close to home that is open on Sundays and takes plastic, another plus!

All in all, I felt pretty good about the weekend. We got enough done, but at the same time, was able to relax. It actually felt 'long enough', which I haven't felt in quite some time.

Yesterday, we bought a electric lawn mower. We have a manual push mower, but it doesn't work when the grass gets too long.

We went to six different stores, weighing various options between the cheapest mowers, thinking that we would still use the manual one as the primary as long as the grass didn't get out of control.

In the end, we decided against getting a cheap gas mower, thinking that the maintenance with the gas and the oil would be too much trouble for people that don't know that much about mowers, and got a corded electric one, since the front lawn isn't that big. And sure, the cord would be annoying, but it wouldn't be our primary mower any way.

It was cute to see Y get all excited about using it as soon as we got home, since he's rather 'against' mowing the lawn. Mowing the lawn with a corded mower is a little like vacuuming. And it's really nice to have the fresh-mowed grass smell without the exhaust smell mixed with it, which isn't something that I'm used to.

Yesterday, Y brought home Bacon Gum for me, as a joke. I was going to try some, but after smelling it, I didn't think I could stomach it.

Also, my friend at the gym and I got the talking about Couch to 5K and shin splits. She showed me this really cool way to massage / stretch the calf before running, and it felt amazing. I'm going to run out this weekend and get one of those things, whatever it was, because it felt so cool.

Strawberry Twizzlers and cashew butter are pretty good together.

I'm not thinking of serving them together or anything. But as end of the day, not a lot of food at my desk snacking goes, it's not too bad!
